Just as with humans, fitness training for dogs has the major advantage of making them much less prone to injury, helping them recover from injuries more quickly, and reducing their tendency to tire during exercise and long walks. Many muscle, joint, and back injuries result from insufficiently trained muscles.
You can do fitness training right at home, in the backyard or living room. With three 15- to 20-minute training sessions per week, you can safely build up your dog’s muscle strength, resulting in the benefits mentioned above.
Fitness Training Program for Your Dog
At Dierenkliniek den Heuvel help you set up a fitness training program for your dog. In the exercise room, under the guidance of an experienced trainer, you’ll learn which exercises are effective, as well as what you should—and, more importantly, what you shouldn’t—do.
These training sessions are led by Carmen van de Kamp. Carmen is a certified dog fitness trainer with many years of experience.
